  1. General information
  2. scope of the processing of personal data

The use of our online offer is generally possible without prior registration and without providing personal data. We collect and use the personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. If this is not the case, personal data will only be used with the user's consent. An exception applies in cases where prior consent cannot be obtained for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by law.

  1. Legal bases of the processing

Insofar as we obtain the consent of the data subject for the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(a) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.

Article 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing of personal data necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party. This also applies to processing operations that are necessary for the performance of pre-contractual measures.

Insofar as the processing of personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

In the event that vital interests of the data subject or another natural person require the processing of personal data, Article 6(1)(d) GDPR serves as the legal basis.

If the processing is necessary to safeguard a legitimate interest of our company or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the former interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing. The legitimate interest of our company lies in the performance of our business activities.

  1. routine deletion and blocking of personal data

We process and store personal data of the data subject only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purpose of storage. Data may also be stored if this has been provided for by the European or national legislator in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject. As soon as the storage purpose no longer applies or a storage period prescribed by the aforementioned regulations expires, the personal data is routinely blocked or deleted.

  1. security of your data

We take all appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the protection of your data. In addition, all web forms with which you transmit sensitive data to us are encrypted and thus protected against unauthorized reading in the best possible way. We would also like to point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) is regularly unsecured and can therefore have security gaps, meaning that data can be accessed or falsified by unauthorized persons.

  1. Usage data
  2. log files

Each time the website is accessed, we or the website provider collect data and information using an automated system. This data is stored in the server log files.

The following data can be collected:

Information about the browser type and version used

The user's operating system

The user's Internet service provider

The IP address of the user

Date and time of access

Websites from which the user's system accesses our website (referrer)

Websites that are accessed by the user's system via our website

The processing of the data serves to deliver the content of our website, to ensure the functionality of our information technology systems and to optimize our website. The log file data is always stored separately from other personal user data.

  1. cookies

Cookies are used on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the cache of your Internet browser for the duration of your browser session (so-called session cookies) or for a fixed period (so-called permanent cookies) on your hard disk. Cookies make it possible to recognize your Internet browser so that you can be provided with content tailored to your needs and wishes more quickly and in a more targeted manner on future visits to our website. We therefore use cookies in order to be able to offer our legitimate interest in providing a website tailored to the wishes of visitors. The cookies do not store any personal data.

How can I prevent the storage of cookies?

You can set your browser to only accept the storage of cookies if you agree to this. You can delete existing cookies. However, deactivating cookies may limit the usability of our website. Information on how cookies can be deactivated can be found at the following link: wikihow.com.

  1. matomo

With your consent, we use the open source software Matomo to analyze and statistically evaluate the use of the website. Cookies are used for this purpose. The information obtained about website usage is transmitted exclusively to our servers and summarized in pseudonymous usage profiles. We use the data to evaluate the use of the website. The data collected is not passed on to third parties.

The IP addresses are anonymized (IP masking) so that they cannot be assigned to individual users.

The data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a GDPR. We thereby pursue a legitimate interest in the optimization of our website for our external presentation.

You can revoke your consent at any time by deleting the cookies in your browser or changing your data protection settings.

  1. Google AdWords

What happens to the data?

The Google Tag is used to present interest-based advertisements to visitors to our website as part of the Google Display Network and Google Search ("Google Advertising Network") and for conversion tracking. When you visit our website, a cookie is stored on your computer for this purpose. The cookie enables Google to recognize the visitor when he or she visits websites that belong to the Google advertising network. Our advertisements can then be displayed to the visitor on these pages ("remarketing").

In addition, Google uses the Google Tag to generate a list of anonymous persons for us, which we use for remarketing when displaying Google AdWords in Google Search. In the event that you search for certain search terms on Google and the cookie on your computer has been recognized by Google, our ad can be displayed to you in the search results.

Finally, we use Google Tag for conversion tracking to measure the success of our advertising campaign in the Google Display for the German Logistics Congress by implementing a JavaScript code snippet on the confirmation and thank you page, which is executed after your successful registration for the German Logistics Congress. If you click on one of our advertisements in the Google advertising network, a cookie with a limited validity period (90 days) will be stored on your computer or mobile device in order to statistically record your registration. When you complete the registration for the German Logistics Congress, this conversion is reported to Google via the code snippet based on the cookie, so that we can track how many conversions per ad are recorded in the statistics and reports provided by Google. This simplifies the optimization of the ads and enables us to evaluate our advertising campaign.

It is not possible for us to identify you as a user and thus as a specific or identifiable person on the basis of the knowledge gained with the Google Tag or the cookie, i.e. we cannot assign the conversion data to specific visitors, but only have access to the overall data for our ads and keywords. In particular, we do not link the data with personal data that we may have collected from you elsewhere. You remain completely anonymous to us.

Further information on Google conversion tracking can be found at https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722022?hl=de

How can you object to data collection and processing?

If you do not want the Google Tag to track your activities, you can deactivate its use at https://www.google.com/settings/ads/. You can also object to the use of the Google Tag for the aforementioned purpose at http://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement/ or at http://optout.aboutads.info/#!/. Alternatively, you can use your browser to delete all cookies or deactivate cookies in your browser to prevent the use of cookies to track your activities. To delete or deactivate cookies, please refer to the help section of your browser. Please note, however, that the use of our website and services may then only be possible to a limited extent and that deleting cookies does not prevent a new cookie from being stored when you visit our website again.

  1. Your personal data (inventory data)
  2. what is "personal data"?

Personal data is information about your person that allows conclusions to be drawn about your identity or relates directly or indirectly to your person, e.g. your name, your address or your telephone number. It does not include information that does not allow conclusions to be drawn about a specific or identifiable person.

  1. your registration with the BVL

If you use the option of registering for an event on the BVL and VDA website by providing personal data, the data in the respective input mask will be transmitted to the BVL and the VDA. The data will be stored exclusively for internal use by the BVL and the VDA. During registration, the user's IP address and the date and time of registration are stored in addition to the data specified below. This serves to prevent misuse of the services. The data will not be passed on to third parties. An exception is made if there is a legal obligation to pass on the data.

Registered persons have the option of having the stored data deleted or amended at any time. The data subject can obtain information about the personal data stored about them at any time.

Registration is based on our legitimate interests. With the option to register, we can offer our visitors the convenience of logging in again regularly and storing their data permanently.

As part of the registration process, we require certain information from you, such as your name, telephone number, e-mail address and address. The fields for data that are required for registration and must be entered are marked as mandatory fields in the registration menu. Further data (such as your cell phone number) is optional. The data you provide will be stored by us and used exclusively to provide the services you have requested and thus to fulfill our contracts with you, e.g. discounts for supra-regional events and BVL specialist forums, for participation in seminars and courses offered by BVL Seminare and DAV as well as for BVL studies and publications in the DVZ Shop. For this purpose, the data will - where necessary - be passed on to service providers and cooperation partners of the BVL and the VDA commissioned for this purpose.

  1. social plugins

Social plugins from social networks are used on this website so that you can also use the interactive features of the social networks you use on our website. Separate data protection and liability regulations apply to social networks and third-party websites in general. The storage and use of personal data by the respective site operator (service provider), which is generated when using their services, may exceed the scope of this privacy policy. The BVL and the VDA have no influence on what data an activated plugin collects and how it is used by the provider. The BVL and the VDA do not collect any personal data themselves by means of the social plugins or through their use.

In order to increase the protection of your data, the plugins are not integrated into the page without restrictions, but only using an HTML link (so-called "Shariff solution" from c't). This integration ensures that no connection is established with the servers of the provider of the respective social network when the page containing such plugins is accessed. If you click on one of the buttons, a new window opens in your browser and calls up the page of the respective service provider, where you can click on the Like or Share button, for example (after entering your login data if necessary).

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by the providers on their pages as well as your rights in this regard and setting options to protect your privacy can be found in the providers' data protection notices.

You have the right to request information as to whether the personal data concerning you is transferred to a third country or to an international organization; in this context, you may request to be informed of the appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR in connection with the transfer;
  • in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR, to immediately request the correction of incorrect or incomplete personal data stored by us;
  • pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR, to demand the erasure of your personal data stored by us, unless the processing is necessary for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes pursuant to Art. 89 (1) GDPR, insofar as the aforementioned right is likely to render impossible or seriously impair the achievement of the objectives of that processing;
  • in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, to demand the restriction of the processing of your personal data if the accuracy of the data is disputed by you, the processing is unlawful, but you refuse to delete it and we no longer need the data, but you need it to assert, exercise or defend legal claims or you have lodged an objection to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR; if the processing of personal data concerning you has been restricted, such data may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the Union or of a Member State and you will be informed by the controller before the restriction is lifted;

These decisions may not be based on special categories of personal data pursuant to Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR, unless Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a or g applies and appropriate measures have been taken to protect the rights and freedoms as well as your legitimate interests;
